Have you ever had that experience where/when you look up and it’s September already?! You wonder to yourself ‘just where did the summer go”?

This is what I call one of those YIKES!  moments experienced by all entrepreneurs at some point in their business. This tends to happen when, in June, we make a conscious decision to enjoy those lazy-hazy days of summer and throw caution to the wind. Now, there’s nothing wrong with making time to enjoy the summer – however, you don’t want to be doing that at the expense of your business, especially when it comes to managing your cash flow.

One of the things I learned from my business coach is that when you are having a roller-coaster experience with your cash flow, take a look back to what you were doing in your business 3 months ago. That’s where you left clues!

LET ME GIVE YOU MY TOP 3 WAYS TO MAINTAIN SOME SOLID CASH FLOW OVER THE SUMMER!

  1. SCHEDULE SOME VIP PLANNING SESSIONS WITH CLIENTS.

Every entrepreneur needs to have a plan for their business. Many do not. That is just a fact. You are in business because you have an area of expertise. Again, in the words of my coach, ‘to a 3rd grader, a 4th grader is a god”! You have something to offer! Take a look at your calendar, find a few ‘half-days’ each month (for July and August), schedule a ‘summer special’ with it comes to pricing and offer those opportunities to your clients. You can generate a nice sum of money/cash flow in this way that will position you well for the fall months.

  1. HAVE A SUMMER SALE.

Take a look at some of the products you have to offer- whether it’s a CD/audio package of some interviews you have done, books you’ve written (take some of the articles you have done in your newsletters and create an e-book, price it in a ‘summer special’ way, market it), any current e-products you have – bundle them all together, price them to ‘move them’ and bring in some consistent cash flow with that over the summer.

  1. DO YOUR FOLLOW UP.

The summer months are a great time to do follow-up that you ‘were going to do some day’ when you had the time. Now is the time. Schedule a few hours each morning and hit the phones. Ask people to work with you. Create a ‘summer special’ program – for 8 weeks – and sell it. Make it an on-line program with a few Q & A calls with you; in that way, people can learn at their own pace and convenience. Follow up with past clients – offer them the same summer program so they can refresh what they’ve learned previously from you.

You know, as well as I do, that the summer months will fly by. When September hits, don’t be one of those people who look up –look around – and realize you have no business in your funnel (or in front of your face)!

Get a head start on things. Take action now. Plan your cash flow NOW. You will thank me come Labor Day!!
