3 Reasons to be in a Business Mastermind!! - #PM30

Pat:  We’re back and this is take #2 on the Facebook Live I was doing because I wanted to turn the camera around and show you the beautiful location where I’m at, hosting the Mavericks’ business retreat this week. I wanted to talk to you, as we head into the month of September, three reasons why you should be in a business mastermind.

One of the important things about a whole retreat is that you’re going to want to be a part of it in a beautiful location because, when you get away from your business, you get away from your office, you get away from your people, family, everything else that distracts you, to be in a beautiful location really enhances the learning.

There’s Susan Beebe, Associate Coach extraordinaire. Here we are at the beautiful inn. We’re outside at lunchtime and we’re having lunch, but seriously, how could you not enjoy a few moments sitting in a location like this. The sky is blue, the flowers are blooming, the music is playing, a beautiful fountain, but this is the type of location where you want to be in learning mode.

Three reasons why you want to be in a business mastermind. First of all, for those of you who are serious business owners and not hobby owners, this is a critical element in your tool kit, if you want to consider it that way. To be in a business mastermind is one of the critical steps to growing your business. You know you can’t do it alone. None of us can do it alone.

Carrie and I have been in business meetings and business masterminds for the last six or seven years together, and that’s how we’ve grown our business. One of the key reasons is that if you’re serious about business and you want to grow your business, you have to be around other like-minded, serious-thinking, progressive, high-achieving individuals. That stimulates your thinking and it also takes you to another level. That’s one reason.

The second reason is you want a business coach who is leading the mastermind. I’m going to use a term I wouldn’t normally use, but there are lots of “bastardized” versions or interpretations of masterminds out there. The bottom line is it’s a group of similarly-minded high-achieving business owners coming together with a leader who has walked the path. That’s the only way you’re going to up-level. You have to be with someone who has walked the path, who is a few steps ahead of you, and that can save you expensive mistakes, re-dos, reinventing the wheel. You want to not necessarily re-do the wheel, but repaint the wheel in your own way. So you will learn some great things having the right business coach and being in the right mastermind.

One of the third reasons is I know many of you, I’ve heard it, I’ve experienced it, I see it–is that one of the expensive mistakes is hiring the wrong people. When you’re in a business mastermind, you get great referrals. I get this all the time. One of the things Carrie and I have benefited from in being in high level mastermind groups over the last few years is you get good referrals when it comes down to where do I find a good VA? Where do I find a good graphic person? Where do I find a good event planner? Because we’re all out there doing those kinds of things.

For those of you who are still going the Lone Ranger route, and silly you if you are, you’re struggling trying to find the right resources and, in fact, you don’t even know the right resources to hire, so to have a coach and be in the mastermind group, you will have a strategic plan, you will have access to great, reputable resources, and thirdly, you’re going to be held accountable. That’s the part I know that scares all of you is actually being held accountable to doing the work, and that’s why you can’t do it alone.

From my perspective, and I’m sure Susan will agree, and I’m going to flip the camera over to her for a minute as she catches her breath and thinks about one last tip that she would share as the supreme, number one associate coach, as far as I’m concerned; a master at her skills of sales and marketing. She can share, from her perspective, why she drove up all the way from Syracuse to be here in London, Ontario to be with the Mavericks Mastery group. She is their direct contact. She does the coaching with them.

Carrie, you’re right. The Lone Ranger route is lonely, and who the heck wants to be lonely? Especially when you’re having successes and you’re making a lot of money. It’s fun to share. I’m going to flip the camera around and Susan can share her one tip as to what she believes to be the value of a mastermind.

Susan:  Hi everybody, I’m glad that you’re joining us. For me, everybody has heard the saying “show up,” but what you don’t realize is that when you do show up, you’re going to not know what you don’t know, and by being a part of a group like this, you’re going to get the opportunity to hear others ask questions that you didn’t even know you didn’t have that. Show up and don’t have any expectations around what you may not be knowing next because the answers will come.

Pat:  And for any of you who want to work with the best of the best, that would be Susan and I.

Why do you want to be at a mastermind retreat? You get to eat good food. We have great service and, really, it’s a really lovely break from the normal routine. We do this three times a year. Those of you who are interested in joining us, know that Susan and I are going to be on the road at the end of September. We are going to be in Toronto, hosting a day-and-a-half retreat. Come, meet us, learn from us, get to know us, and then you can decide if you’d like to join us with the Mavericks, and then we will be in Syracuse in October, so you can come meet us and join us there for a day and a half.

Come and get a taste of it, create a plan for September, create a plan for up to year end, and then, seriously, of course we’re going to encourage you to join the Mavericks.

Spread the word. Go to http://mindsetmarketingandmoney.com and look for information on those workshops that are coming up or go to http://hirepat.com and you can all kinds of information on the coaching programs, on the work that I do, on the workshops that are coming up.

The bottom line – you need a coach, you need a mastermind, you need a plan, you need accountability. If you’re serious about growing your business now and before year end, we’re the ones for you.

Talk to you later. Bye everyone.
