Hey everyone, it’s Pat. I’m coming to you live from the Venetian Hotel in Vegas. It is Tuesday, and it is Pat Mussieux Live.
Here’s what I want to recommend to you. Those of you who are serious about growing your business, I want you to follow my recommendations here and steps, and what I’ve done.
I’m in Vegas this week. I’m at a conference that is outside of my industry, and it’s quite fascinating. There are a few reasons I recommend this kind of experience for you. One is we tend to get in our own circle and our own bubble, and that’s not necessarily healthy for when you do want to grow your business because we just get caught up in a spiral of doing what everybody else is doing. When people are zigging, I recommend you zag, and that’s what I’m doing in this instance.
I am at a health and wellness industry conference, and there are 16,000 people here with me. This is the biggest conference I’ve attended in my work career, so it’s really quite fascinating, the dynamics.
As a coach and a speaker who hosts her own events, this is quite intriguing because I’m looking at it from different aspects. One, I’m watching the technology. I paid attention to the registration system. I’m looking at the AV team. I’m watching the stage setup. That’s just one part of it but, on the other hand, I’m telling you when you step outside your industry, go to an event where there are major players, big players, successful people, high achievers. Then some of the other takeaways are going to be to watch these speakers on stage, watch their stage presence, what they’re presenting, great content. There are always business takeaways that go across industries, so there’s always something to learn.
For me, as a speaker, I’m paying close attention on how they handle the big stage, in particular. And 16,000 in the audience? That takes good stage presence, so that’s another piece of it.
The other piece of it is I’m always talking about the fact that you become the average of the five people you hang out with and you earn the average of the five people you hang out with. Some of you, like me a few years ago, are thinking yes, I want to be in the millionaire’s circle, but I don’t know any millionaires. I didn’t grow up around millionaires. Neither did I. What I’m doing now, as I up-level, I am in a room here, in an environment here, where there are billionaires, so I’m paying attention to what they wear, how they speak, how they interact with people, what they have to offer, so that’s another aspect here.
Let’s take another side of it. If you’re going to go to an event that’s outside your industry, I would recommend that it’s also something that is of interest to you, something where you will get a return on investment. For those of you who know, I’m focusing on health this year and aging gracefully, as I head to another big birthday next week. At this conference it’s health and wellness, and so there are technical aspects that are going to keep me in the game, keep me in the upright and smiling position, and I’m learning things from the scientists, from the doctors, from the nutritionists who are here—for my own self interest. So I’d recommend that too.
Those are just a few of the tips that I wanted to share with you. Take time out of your norm, get out of your comfort zone and your circle, and go to another industry event and up-level in a very big way, but make sure there’s a return on investment for you, either on the personal level, the professional level, or the organizational level, and that’s in fact what I’ve created here over the few days.
Stay tuned because Tony Robbins is speaking tomorrow. I’ve always wanted to hear Tony Robbins speak, and I’ll do a wrap up Facebook Live for you and share some of the key points when it comes to prospecting, attracting ideal clients, making the kind of money you want to support the lifestyle that you want and deserve.
Like I said in the headline, whoa, I highly recommend you do this. Find one that works for you. Share in the comments below, and get out there and just broaden your horizons. Breakout sessions are starting. I’m going to go back into learning mode, and I trust that you’re doing whatever it takes for you to grow your business today. Make it a good one.
Thank you, Bridgette
