Have you ever committed to something and then backed out? I’ve seen a lot of that over the past few weeks and it really causes me to go…….hmmmm…..what’s up with that behavior?

Has it ever dawned on you that it’s not always just about YOU? When opportunities have been presented, it means a few things:

1)      YOU get to go and grow.

2)      YOU get to work with some of the best in the industry.

3)      YOU are given the tools to succeed.

4)      YOU are supported by mentors and coaches.

5)      YOU have got to show up!!!! (especially when you’ve said that you will!)

6)      YOU have taken space that others may have been denied because of availability of resources.

“There are only two options regarding commitment, you’re either in or you’re out. There’s no such thing as life in between.” – Anonymous

I’ve been involved in some amazing experiences over the past year. These experiences were a result of opportunities that had been presented to which I said a resounding YES! Other people did, too.

What continues to amaze and shock me is the number of times the majority of these other people don’t show up. I fail to understand that behavior. Success in business requites that you show up.

SHOW UP!

BE VISIBLE!

BE ENGAGED!

“There is no failure except in no longer trying. There is no defeat except from within, no really insurmountable barrier save our own inherent weakness of purpose.” – Elbert Hubbard (1856-1915); Philosopher, Author, Publisher

I am often asked the questions: Why are you here? What are you learning from this? Why are you repeating the experience? How have you managed to achieve such a level of success so quickly?

HERE’S THE SIMPLE ANSWER!

“Desire is the key to motivation, but it’s determination and commitment to an unrelenting pursuit of your goal – a commitment to excellence – that will enable you to attain the success you seek.” – Mario Andretti (born 1940); Italian American World Champion Racing Driver

One of my mentors, Lou Tice, always said ‘if it’s to be, it’s up to me!” – and I’ve followed that advice for over 20 years now.

It is up to me to show up. It is up to me to do the work. It is up to me to be engaged. It is up to me to be VISIBLE.

My question to you is – are YOU visible? Or are you still the ‘best kept secret’ in your industry?

We’d love to hear! Please share your thoughts!
