Don’t you just love it when other entrepreneurs look at you and say something like: “Well, it’s easy for you!”?  NOT! That statement actually makes me want to scream.

But it is a statement that I hear a lot.  What many women entrepreneurs do NOT realize is that it takes a lot to up-level your business and play a bigger game.

Since I am doing just that – I want to share some of the ‘behind the scenes’ stuff that goes into playing that bigger game so that you have some insights and can get prepared. This is not for the FAINT of heart – this information is only for those who are serious business owners.

“If you’re going to think, you might as well think BIG.” – Donald Trump

Here is some of what it takes:

MENTAL TOUGHNESS:  What you think about, you bring about.  You’ve got to get your thinking in order. It’s critical that you learn the mental skills to help you bust through the mindset barriers that cause you to get in your own way – those habits, attitudes, beliefs, expectations, ego, emotion, control, negative self-talk, doubt, comfort zones, fear… and so much more. Need I even say more?

MONEY: When you make the decision to play a bigger game, it takes serious cash flow my friends. That means more clients, higher fees for service, more professional development and investing in yourself and in your business along the way, and consistently! This is NO time to hide behind excuses when it comes to investing in the business. You’ve got to spend money to make money.

MENTORS: I would NOT be where I am today without the guidance, wisdom and teachings of my business coach(es). I am not prepared to re-invent the wheel, make expensive mistakes and struggle all by my lonesome on this journey. That’s just plain stupid. And if that’s what you’re doing, then I guarantee that you will stay stuck and continue to play small as the months and years pass you by.

A GREAT TEAM:  Playing a bigger game means you can NOT possibly continue to do everything in your business. Time to let go of the ‘control freak’ habits and attitudes – outsource and delegate all that which is not your talent and/or non-revenue generating activities – and get on with doing your best work.

A CLEAR UNDERSTANDING OF YOUR ‘WHY’:  When the ‘going gets tough’ – and it does! – then you’ve got to be very clear on the WHY of your business! What gets you back in the game when you get knocked down? What gets you jumping out of bed, each and every day, with genuine enthusiasm for what you do? What IS your why?

A PLAN:  Not much explanation required here – except that many of YOU need to do some self-reflection here – many of you have NO plan – and yet you expect to grow the business, generate more revenue – make a difference in the world. Hello! You spend more time planning your dinner, or your wardrobe for the next big outing than you do mapping out your business – where you want to go and grow – and what it takes to get there.

For those of you who are serious about business, who are serious about making big money so that you can make a big difference in the world – then it’s time to take a good look at these few points and do whatever it takes to position yourself for massive growth.

What will it take for YOU to get ready for an amazing 2013 in your business?
