I have had such fun interviewing successful, mature business women over the past week for my new TV show – Wealthy Women Leaders. Have you ever just wanted to sit down, have coffee and enjoy a conversation with someone ‘who’s been there, done that – and succeeded’?

The stories that were told and the lessons that were shared were priceless. Seriously. You cannot put a price tag on what these women had to say!

While they each came from diverse backgrounds and different industries, there were some common lessons in each interview.

I want to give you the top take-away points that you can apply in your own business to help you overcome adversity, hold the vision and live your dream life.

  1. IT IS NEVER TOO LATE

While some of my TV guests have been in business for over 25 years, some of them are fairly new to the industry they are currently working in. Things change. The economy changes. YOU change. It’s never too late to transfer your skills. Keep an open mind and find the opportunities. Say YES to opportunities even though you may feel ill-prepared for what is being offered – you can always learn what you don’t know.

  1. CASH FLOW IS KING

You must have cash flow to keep the business afloat and to grow a business. Know your pricing and your value. Charge what you are worth. Get the money in the door – and recognize that, in many instances, the money is staring you right in the face – it’s on the table! Watch, and manage, your cash flow.

  1. KEEP THE GIRLFRIENDS CLOSE

It’s a lonely and difficult road being an entrepreneur. Family members don’t always understand what the heck it is you do – and why you keep doing it. Keep your girlfriends close. Plan girlfriend time. Stay connected – talk often – share from the heart.  It’s not only good FOR your heart – but contributes to a happy and successful life.

  1. NETWORKING IS IMPORTANT

I am often speaking about the benefits of networking. It is not a matter of who YOU know but, rather, of who KNOWS YOU. In this day and age, it is critically important to have a presence – both on line and off line. Network. Network. Network. Build those relationships – that is what will help carry you through both the good times and the bad times.

  1. GIVE BACK

We have so very much in our country. We are blessed beyond belief. It is so important to always remember to give back. Give of your time. Give of your money. Give of your heart. Give your information. We had a lot of discussion about giving back and each one of my TV guests agreed that it enriched their lives and their business. Even in the beginning, when times may seem and feel difficult, there is always something you can give. And there is always a feeling of satisfaction.

My special guests gave a lot of great content, tips and wisdom at the taping of my TV show. It was an honor to spend time listening to what made them tick, what ticked them off – and the words of wisdom they had for my listeners.

IF YOU HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO SIT AND HAVE A CONVERSATION WITH SOMEONE IN BUSINESS WHO INSPIRES YOU, WHAT WOULD YOU ASK THEM?

Please share your thoughts!
