Three weeks on the road, 5 different events, world-class speakers and teachers, and tons of great content! I love it all – but I do, at times, feel like I’ve been hit with a fire hose.

Take all that in-person information, combine it with everything that comes at me through the web and email and – well – it can be overwhelming.  Ever feel that way, too?

I always come back to what I do best – FOCUS! Based on that acronym, let me share my survival tips with you.

F – is for FOCUS.  Because I have the ‘smarts’ to be working with a business coach, I have a plan for my business. With that plan, I am able to focus each and every day. When I have access to new content and great speakers, I have a habit of only high-lighting 3 main points that I plan to implement immediately. The rest of the information gets ‘parked’ for another time.

O – is for OPPORTUNITY.  When I travel, I share on Facebook where I am and what events I am attending. As a result, many great opportunities have presented themselves – and I always say YES! (when they are in alignment with my goals, of course). That happened recently and it was incredible, to say the least. Seize the opportunities – be open – be flexible – be willing.

C – is for COMMITMENT. It’s often very easy to attend events, hear speakers, read items and access new content and then do nothing with it. I’ve heard the expression that your notes can easily become ‘shelf help’. I make a commitment, each and every time, to learn 3 new things and put them into action. Anyone can do THREE things – and each item will move you forward when it comes to growing your business.

U – is for UNSUBSCRIBE. Another great speaker I heard lately, Dr. Sam Horn, referenced this society being in the midst of ‘info-besity’ when it comes to the large amount of information bombarding us. As I grow my business and learn new things, I stay focused and in control by unsubscribing to many of the ezines and newsletters that come into my in-box. Again, I work in the power of 3 – I keep things to a minimum – that way, I know I will actually follow through on my commitment to read, to learn and to implement.

S – is for STRATEGY. It’s important to me to be constantly learning. It’s a fast-paced business world out there – so much changes and so quickly. Having a strategy and action plan are critical to my success. That’s why I work with a coach and you should, too!

Keep it simple!   It’s easy to become a wealthy woman leader when you have FOCUS and stay FOCUSED! I know that the work I do around client attraction and client fulfilment are all part of my master plan – and that is what helps me serve the world in a very big way!

What do you do to stay out of overwhelm and to keep things simple ? Please share your thoughts!

  1. Pat, thank you for such valuable information. When I coach my weight loss and fitness clients my aim is always for the simply and easy so they can reach their goals with less stress. Yet, I often forget to do the same for myself when it comes to information and often am on info-overload. I love your idea about keeping things to 3! Thank you for sharing such a powerful article.

    • Kim – thank you for your kind feedback!

I agree – keep things simple and easy for people – it’s more likely they will implement and, therefore, succeed!
