I apologize for the strong language – not usually in my repertoire- but I really did want to get your attention.

I am just so sick and tired of talking to people who don’t know how to make a decision! Aren’t you? So many people who call themselves entrepreneurs, who say they are serious about growing their business, who get presented with tremendous opportunities and…..say…….’let me think about that’.

What? You get presented with a great opportunity and it’s typically from someone who knows you and respects you – and you say ‘let me think about it’? (for days, for weeks……!)

I understand that some major decisions require time to think through – I’m not talking about those types of life-changing decisions that significantly impact your business. I’m talking about an opportunity to attend an event, or an opportunity to join in on something – which requires a simple yes or no answer.

So let me ask you the question – ‘Is it difficult for you to make a damn decision? …. to give a straight ‘yes or no’ answer when presented with an opportunity?

Well, what’s up with that, anyway? It really boils down to your thought process and your ability to think critically about opportunities for your business.  One of the keys to succeeding in business is the ability to make a decision – and then, make the decision right, if need be (a great Larry Winget quote!)

This is what I’ve discovered in my own business. You’ve just got to learn how to make decisions in order to get ahead. I’ve often been told ‘well, it’s easy for you’! Well, yes, you are right, actually.

As you grow your business, things change – people change – and you need to make decisions in the best interest of your business. As a business coach, I know what my clients need and want. As an entrepreneur, I know what is best for my business, for my team and for me. (and I am one of the smart ones in that I am working with the most amazing business coach myself and get great guidance……so my decisions are not based on whims!)

The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity. The fears are paper tigers. You can do anything you decide to do. You can act to change and control your life; and the procedure , the process is its own reward. ~ Amelia Earhart

I can assure you that your business will grow in leaps and bounds once YOU, too, learn to make decisions.

Here are 3 things you need to consider:

1) “WHAT YOU WANT IN YOUR BUSINESS”

Once you’ve identified what you want – know it, believe it, feel it, live it. I know what I want in my business so decision-making is easy. I know when to say YES and I know when to say NO. I also take quick, decisive action – that’s how successful people operate. No humming and hawing!

2) HAVE A PLAN – AND WORK THE PLAN!

I create a plan on a yearly basis for my business – in consultation with my massively successful business coach. She knows the ropes! I am not about to invent the wheel. We have a plan and I work the plan. I stay focused. That also makes it easy to make decisions – know when to hold them, know when to fold them. Get a coach – get a plan- work your plan. Grab opportunities when they come up – especially when they are presented by respected, successful individuals. Just do it!

3) KEEP GROWING!

Successful entrepreneurs are always on the go and on the grow! Who do you surround yourself with? When you get invitations to events from these people – you say YES. Then you figure out the HOW! Too many of you are caught up in the ‘how of everything’. If that’s you, then you might as well get out of the way because you’re only going to be eating dust anyway! Get with the program. Learn to say YES!

On the plains of hesitation bleach the bones of countless millions who, at the dawn of decision, sat down to wait, and waiting died.” ~ Sam Ewing

So, my question to you is – are you ready to make decisions this week that will move your business closer to success?

Are you ready to say YES to opportunities and invitations that have been put right in front of your face?

Will you end the self-inflicted, self-abuse that you have been experiencing because you don’t know how to make a damn decision?

GREAT! Tell me everything!!!! We’d love to hear! Please share your thoughts!
