When you tell people what it is you ‘do’ in your business, do they understand anything you’re saying? Do YOU even know how to clearly articulate the message?

“All meaningful and lasting change starts with you and then works its’ way out’ is a great quote from my mentor, Lou Tice. It is no different when it comes to getting the word out about the work you do and the transformation you create.

It all starts with your Point of View. One of the exercises I did recently was to write down my opinion about business (since that is MY topic when it comes to doing business) – in a 60 second time frame.

This is a powerful exerciseand you will begin to flush out your opinions. So, identify your topic, set the timer and get to work on this one. This is the foundation from which all your messaging will come. For me, this helped me to see that my whole point of view, when it comes to women in business, is that we compromise all the time – which absolutely impacts our bottom line in a negative way.

The second step is to identify your unique point of view. In other words, what gives YOU the right to say/write/coach on this topic. My unique point of view comes back to my own story – I’ve got the experience and the credibility to speak on the topic of compromise, the impact that has on one’s business and, more importantly, how I’ve turned that into a success story and created a multiple-six figure business.

Once you are clear on point of view and unique point of view, all of your messaging should reflect this. It becomes the essence of every interview, of every keynote presentation, of any articles or books that you are writing.

“Clarity attracts cash!” – (Ali Brown) – When I first heard this quote by Ali, I loved what it represented but I didn’t really ‘get it’ until now. Clarity not only attracts cash, but it attracts opportunities. And opportunity is what it’s all about.

Getting clear on your point of view in all of your messaging will position you to become the ‘go to’ expert in your industry. You will attract media interviews, speaking opportunities, joint venture invitations and so much more.

You shouldn’t go another day without completing this exercise. The benefits are too numerous to mention – but one of the most significant outcomes is the fact you will be better able to serve the people who need you. That’s where the gold is!

So, what is your topic and what is your point of view on that’?

And if you need help with this, let me know. Please share your thoughts!
